Description
The Protectorate of Kalarba is an Imperial Remnant in the Hevrol sector of the Mid Rim. Protected by strong orbital defenses, it stands as a bastion of Imperial sovereignty in a region now rife with piracy and chaos.
Organization and Operation
The Protectorate is led by Moff Leon Erask and Central Command, a council of Imperial military, engineering, and logistics officers. Current operations lean towards establishing new infrastructure and defenses throughout the Hevrol sector, as support from the greater Imperial Remnant can no longer be depended upon. While stormtroopers are becoming a rare sight in the Protectorate, members of the army and navy still see action hunting pirates and skirmishing rebel cells on the borders of Protectorate space.
History
Following the Battle of Jakku most of the remaining Imperial forces surrendered to the New Republic or retreated to more isolated parts of the galaxy, notably the deep core and unknown regions. Vast swaths of Imperial territory were left abandoned, or destroyed as part of the mysterious Operation Cinder.
Moff Leon Erask of the Hevrol sector refused to abandon his holdings on Kalaraba, even as many of his own officers withdrew their commands to the deep core. Still loyal to the greater Empire, Moff Erask declared Kalarba an Imperial Protectorate and began reorganizing the local government and military to better function without outside support.
Perhaps one day, the Empire will be restored. Until then, the Protectorate of Kalarba will do whatever it takes to survive.
