[Solved] [Episode III] The Yavin Gambit

Teera ignored the bead of sweat trickling down her neck as she repositioned herself in the nook of the tree roots that strangled, ruptured and choked every inch of the ancient ruins. For some inexplicable reason, people had always been drawn to the lush rainforests of Yavin 4 - the native Massassi had thrived until they had been conquered and enslaved by Sith lords in the time of the Old Republic, the Rebel Alliance had hidden their base of operations here during the Galactic War, and now, it seemed, it was UniStar’s turn.

And boy, did they hate every second of it, she observed with a smirk, watching the field camp from the cover of the abundant foliage. There were five of them, led by a commander who had the unmistakable bearing of a former Imperial army officer. The rest of them were grunts; tough as nails and armed to the teeth, but more preoccupied with complaining about the sweltering humidity, scratching at mosquito bites or readjusting the sweat-stained collars of their uniforms than patrolling the perimeter of the ruins.

So much for UniStar’s work ethics, Teera thought, shaking her head at their lackluster efforts of guarding the cargo crates filled to the brim with Jedi and Sith artifacts to be sold on the black market. Even though she was as uncomfortable as the mercenaries, the jungle worked in her favor, at least for the moment. As long as they were distracted, getting to the holoterminal at the base of the massive overgrown pyramid should be a blue milk run. All she needed was a distraction.

And judging by the high-pitched whine of approaching repulsor skiff engines, she just got her wish. Time to get to work.
