This moc was truly a challenge in every way possible. The racer itself was challenging as I wanted to give it some stripes and cool angles, I chose the method of selecting large unique pieces and then trying to figure out how they would all come together. For this racer I wanted to create as much atmosphere and environment as possible, to really immerse the viewer into the moment of the racer swooshing by. The background is the largest piece of lego I have ever made measuring at 9 grey baseplates, this is also my first ever immersive scene and it was a mindblowing experience at that. The editing part was also a test to my skills, as countless hours have been spent on that just to get everything right. Seeing some of Bjorn's edits I knew I also wanted to make a visual dictionary-esque for my ship as it would give it more of a story and realism. And damn Bjorn do I have respect for you making those glossary edits because I now realize how time consuming that is.

As soon as this competition has began, I was ecstatic to get to work. I knew I wanted to make my racer have an F1 color scheme so I went through and dug out old pieces of Atlantis sets (I got every wave 1 Atlantis set as a kid so I had all these submarine parts in bulk). The main inspiration for this was a simulator ride called Typhoon, that I adored as a kid. There was a level there called "Ravine Racer" and I just envisioned my ship to sort of replicate that in a way as it was a very dear memory to me.

you can see the resemblance in this probably

the link to the level from the simulator:

As far as the background goes here you can see the overall view

the city in the background is also brick built )

In conclusion I am very glad that I decided to participate in this event. As with any moc for this rpg I have learnt something new and found ways to challenge myself. That is probably why I love this factions community so much because all the nice people around you really push you to achieve your best potential and thanks to this rpg I have learnt how to edit, make ships and immersive scenes (something that I probably would never have done on my own). Anyway enough of me talking, here are some other shots.

This is really such an excellent build. I think it's a fantastic balance of scale and detail. The fore-, mid-, and background just combine so nicely for the picture. I love the stands and the plume of water behind your ship. I also love the 'datafile' picture showing the refueling and maintenance. Two points of constructive criticism: the scenery, while gorgeous, doesn't really feel like an ocean planet so much as a river running through a big city. Secondly, the racer doesn't live up to the rest of the build. There is some NPU and the stickered parts work well, but the color striping and holes leave a bit to be desired. And with a build this big, I wish you had included a second racer!

A mixed bag for me. The background is well shot, expansive and gives off a great sense of space. It well should, considering it is absolutely enormous. It is gorgeous, but definitely goes against the grain of the Event rules. The racer is fine, bright colors and a striking design go a long way. It really fits well within star wars - elements of the n1 starfighter, the gungan sub and anakin's podracer are all recognizable.  The shaping is a it simplistic and the blocking of the white is rough in places. All the more jarring considering how much love was put into the background. It is pretty strange that this looks nothing like the reference material for Aquaris, but what little there is of it makes this a small point of contention.

Certainly an impressive build overall, but it feels out of place in this event.

This is the one, for me. I absolutely love how you took us through the build process, I wish we got to see design sketches and inspiration pics for every build posted to Factions. The Racer is deceptively great, maybe it seems simple, but it's a strong, unique, Star-Warsy design and executed so well. The background is not only incredibly immersive, and well-thought out to serve the immersive scene, it's great and simple Star Wars design, with just the right amount of detail. The brick-built background is just the final kicker, got my jaw on the floor. You're an all-timer, boyo
