Hayk walked up to the door of the run-down house, and pushed an admittance buzzer. Rumour had it, that a man here had information on a bounty for one Rocesty Sypester.
A few people had tried their hand at capturing Sypester already, but none had been able to bring him in. Hayk had heard a signal from Tatooine that said the tracking fob had been found by a man who swept the streets. Apparently, the previous bounty hunter had tossed the fob in the street, and had left it here, never finding his quarry. All this had brought him here, to this house on the edge of Anchorhead.
After a moment, the door began to open, and a kindly old man greeted Hayk and invited him into the house.
'I hear you have information on a bounty... for Rocketry Superstar, or something', Hayk inquired as he entered.
Hayk found himself in a small one room home, with few furnishings. The old man gestured to the chair at the table and asked Hayk to sit. He bustled around, moving dishes, putting out a pitcher of water on the table couple small wooden cups, then grabbing a plate and preparing a portion. Finally, once the table was set, the man sat down on a wooden bench on the other side of the table. It had a small cushion on it, and Hayk felt humbled when he realized that this must have been the man's bed.
The man offered Hayk a piece of the portion, likely the man's main source of food for the day. Hayk accepted, honouring the man's generosity.
'Thank you,' Hayk said, despite the meager feast. The man 's kind smile seemed even warmer for a moment.
'I know it isn't much, but I was raised that you always feed a guest in your home.'
'So, you're a bounty hunter then, huh?' The old man asked Hayk rhetorically, then continued, 'If I were younger, I may have tried going after this guy myself... you can't imagine how many portions I could get with the amount of credits the New Republic wants for this guy.'
'You found the tracking fob in the street?'
'Yes. I get paid a few credits for sweeping around the shops-- in fact, I've used that broom,' the man said, pointing to a broom hung on the wall, 'for 35 years. Anyways, I was sweeping the entrance of one of the shops a couple days ago, and this guy looked pretty frustrated. He hucked this over his shoulder before stomping off towards the spaceport.' The man pulled a small bit of technology with an antenna off of the shelf, and placed it on the table. 'Rumour has it that the man was last seen heading west towards Sand Peoples' territory. I think that may have scared a few of the other bounty hunters off.'
Hayk stayed a while longer as he finished his drink-- stale water -- and listened to the man reminisce. The man told Hayk how he had originally been a courier from Alderaan, but around the time the Clone Wars had started, his ship had broken down during a delivery on Tatooine, and he had been stuck here ever since.
After a while, it was time for Hayk to go. The two nodded towards each other in farewell.
'Thank you for your hospitality.' Hayk said before he turned to leave.
As Hayk left the residence, tracking forb in hand, he silently promised himself that he would be back once this bounty was collected.
Interior:
A beautiful building, I like the snotted base with the stairs and the entrance. Nice props also!
Thanks!
Nice entry - the lowered doorway in the sand is a neat touch!
