“Task Force Wesk is in position. All Patrol walkers are meeting up at these coordinates, sir.”
“Excellent, Lieutenant,” responded Commander Travos, “Hold on tight back there, I’m taking her out.”
The usually quiet mountains and forests of Carida were a buzz of activity. Some of the most dangerous missions in all the Crimson War were about to occur just outside of some of the Caridan cities targeted by the combined military efforts of the Crimson Empire, The Imperial Consortium, and the Pentastar Alignment. All three Imperial Factions sent assault walkers of every type to be accompanied by Stormtroopers in their full regalia. The people of Carida would know, without a shred of doubt, that the Empire had returned.
Luckily, thanks to the Caridan policy of Imperial Loyalty, the Republic presence on the planet was few if not nonexistent. From the start, Imperial Commanders knew this mission would likely not incur many casualties unless a determined counter-offensive from the New Republic or its allies occurred. After taking many of the academies and reclaiming much of the materiel left by the Empire after its collapse, the Imperial coalition knew they faced one last challenge. Sometimes, the hardest part of attempting to occupy a planet was facing the planet’s people in their own cities.
It was in this climate that Commander Travos led his Pentastar Patrol AT-DT walker in a line behind the other Patrol walkers of Task Force Wesk.
They were going to face the people of Carida.
They were heading for a parade. Godspeed Task Force Wesk.
Very nice, well-executed build. The accompanying story is great too.
