The red sands reflected the heat of the scorching sun. The wasteland stretched to the horizon, and with each step the group took the horizon did not budge.

Their long trek came to an end when the group encountered ancient stones of ruins long forgotten.

As they went deeper into the ruins, the dilapidated, overgrown structures seemed to become a bit more tame, as if they were groomed and looked after. The group’s curiosity piqued as they encountered a set of ruins different from the others. Red flags were erected from the branches of trees, all leading towards two structures.

The first structure they came upon was a stone head lodged in the sands. There was no body to which it was attached to. Upon further inspection, the group noticed that the twisting branches of the usually scarce trees were abundant in this area, especially around the head.

Their inspection was interrupted by a voice. It was projected from the decapitated head, as if it was speaking.
“WEARY TRAVELERS, FOR WHAT PURPOSE DO YOU APPROACH THESE RUINS?”

The group jumped in surprise, the talking head was not something any of them expected. The one closest to the head stepped forward, answering the question.
“We are here searching for treasure, the hidden treasures of the Hutt. Who are you? Are you the guardian of these ruins?” A curt response followed by a question.

“TREASURE? TREASURE YOU SAY? WHY WOULD THERE BE ANY TREASURE HERE? IF IT IS TREASURE YOU SEEK, IT WILL NOT BE EASY TO FIND. I AM THE WATCHER OF THIS PLACE AND I KNOW ALL, INCLUDING WHETHER THERE IS TREASURE HERE OR NOT.”

Becoming annoyed, the Twi’lek responded, “What is it that you want? If you know anything about this treasure it would be of great assistance. How might we gain this information from you?”
More so than before, the mischievous nature of the Watcher shone through in the response.
“ANSWER MY RIDDLE AND I WILL TELL YOU.”

The Watcher didn’t even wait for a response, jumping straight into the rhyme.

“YOUR TREASURE WILL BE FOUND WHERE NO SUN SHINES, WHERE STATUES KNEEL WITH A GREAT REFINE. BENEATH THE ROOTS OF A RUIN ONCE WISE, HIDDEN FROM MAPS AND SMUGGLER’S EYES. YOU WILL FIND A FORK WITH PATHS OF THREE, ONE TAKES YOUR LIFE, ONE SETS YOU FREE, THE THIRD HAS NOT BEEN TRAVELED BY ME. BUT IF YOUR FEET ARE LIGHT AND YOUR WILL DOES NOT CRACK. FOLLOW THE ONE WHO WALKS, BUT LEAVES NO TRACK. THERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR TREASURE”

The group stood in silence, only the tapping of a holopad recording the riddle broke the stillness. Then the man spoke up.

“Is this a joke to you? What do you mean the one who walks but leaves no track? Who’s even speaking to us anyways? Are you in this head or what?!” The Twi’lek walked forward and began kicking at the stone, it didn’t budge.
“FOOLISH SENTIENT, I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS! YOUR SILLY ATTEMPTS WILL DO NOTHING TO ME!”

The Twi’lek let out an angry grunt as she continued kicking at the stone. Before she could continue her futile attempts, her companion grabbed her shoulder and pointed into the distance.

“Boss… I’ve got a feeling we’ll find him there.” His finger was pointing towards a dilapidated pillar. What once held up a grand structure was reduced to just its base. And in these ruins was a “refurbished” homestead, built out of the crumbling wreckage of the pillar. It rose high above the ground and featured a door, an additional tower, and a window.

“NO! THAT IS NOT WHERE I AM! THAT IS JUST… THE RUINS FROM THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. JUST AS PRESERVED AS THIS HEAD OF MINE!”

The group looked to the head in exasperation. Leaving it behind, they began their walk towards the ruined tower. As they approached the door, they could hear a muffled voice emanating from inside. It’s words echoing exactly what the Head was saying.

“DO NOT COME ANY CLOSER! THERE IS NO ONE IN HERE!”

The ruse was up and the group's patience was wearing thin. With a few forceful bangs on the door, the group awaited a response. Yet, none came.

“We know you’re in there! You’ve got nowhere to run!”

Her companion chimed in, blaster in hand.
“As long as you tell us where the treasure is, we won’t hurt you!”

They were met with a muffled voice from inside the tower, the Head no longer speaking.

“The answer you seek is in the riddle I told you~!” The mischievous tone in his voice was back. “That’s all I know about this treasure~! Good luck! And like I said, I’m not in here~!.”

The Watcher’s voice was obviously coming from inside the tower.

But, once the treasure hunters forced the door open and stepped inside, they were met with an empty interior, no trace of anyone.

“Fark, he must’ve had an escape measure. I’ll look around for it.”

"How about we focus on the riddle boss? I've actually got an idea about it, we gotta find another set of specific ruins though. But, I think I know where we can go." One of her lackeys responded.

"Hmm, if you say so."

This one was really fun in concept. It started out with the home within the ruins, and it evolved into a sort of Wizard from Oz situation, and I found it comical.
