Deep under the rolling sands of Nar Kreeta was a long forgotten dungeon, once believed to be under control of the Hutts, the state of the dungeon made it seem like it had been left to rot for a long time.
Now, it was a point of interest for treasure hunters. Scavengers looking for the treasure of the once great Jabba the Hutt. What better place to hide treasure than in a prison buried under the sands of time?
“Captain, I can’t say der’s much in ‘ere ‘sides a few sets of bones and some junk.” A gray Nikto emerged from the dark of what was once a prison cell. He tossed a bag full of, what was probably, junk into a large box at the feet of a Duros.
“It’s okay Tsuv, the experience here was enough of a treasure for me.” The Duros responded, his voice old and wise.
“Cut it out with that crap captain! I know you’re annoyed this was all for nothing! I sure am.” A third voice barked out in Huttese. It belonged to a Klatooinian, he was climbing down a ladder setup between the upper and lower floors of the dungeon.
The Duros let out a hearty laugh. “Of course I feel annoyance, but is life not about the adventure? We may be pirates, but I am personally a historian as well. Is this not what it’s about? To discover and explore?”
The Klatooinians' features dropped, giving his captain an expressionless stare. The Duros didn’t let that stop him, his speech continuing.
“I can see it now, the fat Hutt would watch from up there, from the platform above, while down here his prisoners were maimed and tortured. Maybe they kept Rancors down here, the Hutts are prone to do so. They would find immense joy in the pain of their prisoners, in here -” Pointing to the out of order prison cell. “is where they would keep the poor souls who have found their way into the hands of the Hutts.”
The captain walked into the cell. “They would chain them up to this wall, leave them starving and thirsty for days on end, all but forgotten. But, as they are at death’s door, they will drag them from their captivity, unchained and uncuffed. For a brief moment they are given a hope of freedom, but these hopes are crushed by the roar of a beast! And BOOM! The Rancor is let loose, given free reign to destroy the prisoner, and up above the fat Hutt will puff on his pipe and slurp down some patty frogs.”
The two other members of the crew stood in the doorway to the cell, their faces expressionless as their captain’s rant continued.
And before it could go on for even longer, Tsuv, the Nikto, cut their captain off. “Captain Behg, I think you’re more of a sadist than a historian… Is this why you wanted to come here? Did you even think there was going to be treasure?”
Behg gave them a blank stare of his own, then turned away, continuing to stare at the torture devices left behind in the cell.
“Ok, well Rokku and I are gonna head back up, we’ll let you finish up down here ‘Cap. Let us know if you need anything…”
This one was a challenge, originally it was going to be a catacomb on Teth, but the color scheme was not working out. So it had to be transitioned into a Nar Kreeta structure. Another small thing I really liked was having the ability to remove the top floor from the second, it didn't truly amount to much, but I like the idea.
Great moc and story! I really like how you constructed the upper tan wall and added the roots and lila splashes of color. Its just the prefect amount of detail. Honestly - I could look at this moc for hours 🤩 There's something that draws me into the moc.
The Durosian Pirate Indiana Jones is such a interesting and deep character. I still can hear him arguing with his crew haha!
Great job all around 👍
@yperio_bricks Thank you again for the kind words, I really do enjoy the Duros as well, the eyepatch head already gives him character, and I wanted to build that character out through the story!
