"We can still catch 'em! Get in!"

The crunch of leaves and the smell of dirt filled her nostrils. The humid, warm air made her sweat under her gear and coat. But she was used to it.

In her time as a hunter of artifacts and treasure, she’s been across the galaxy, seen many an amazing sight. Despite all that, experiencing new locations would always fill her with wonder. 

Walking through these ancient ruins reminded her of all the things that came before her. Who were the people that inhabited these ruins? What were these structures built for? Were they places of worship? Often it was her job to find out the answers to these questions. But, not this time. This job was a race against the clock. 

The Hutts’ had let everyone know that one of their damn slimeballs had left a cache of treasure hidden somewhere in the galaxy. And alongside that bounty, the reward for the treasure was a place at the side of Hutts. Now every single dirtbag in the galaxy wanted a piece of that pie.

She knew she wasn’t alone in the ruins. Besides her partner’s speeder, she had heard the low rumblings of other craft somewhere nearby, probably searching for the same thing she was. An entrance into the ruins, a lead to go off of, a clue about where the treasure could be hidden.

Her musings were interrupted by a familiar rumbling sound. From around a corner of the ruins came a speeder, a man with a large brimmed hat driving it. 

“Prycil! Get in!” The driver yelled out to her as he began to pull up alongside her.

She broke out into a sprint to keep pace, jumping over some of the ruins to gain better positioning.

“What’s going on Chip?” She managed to catch up to the slowing speeder just as another, louder, rumbling drowned out her voice.
As Prycil hopped into the speeder, a sleek, green, low altitude aircraft raced into view. Piloted by a helmeted individual, the speedy vehicle raced past them, deeper into the ruins.

 Chip’s gruff voice brought her out of her stupor.

“That’s them. Some of his crew found an entrance deeper into the ruins. Gee-Arr-Eight had tapped their comms so I know where they’re heading.” His voice was almost carried away by the wind as their speeder rushed to catch up.

“Fark. I can’t believe others found something first.”
“It’s to be expected, we prefer to do things the old fashioned way. Their gadgets definitely do most of the heavy lifting.” 

“If only this was a mission just for us, I woulda loved to explore this place more thoroughly.”

“Don’t worry, I think we still got a chance.” Chip focused back on their path briefly, swerving between the trees of the overgrown ruins.
“It’ll take time for that guy to land that big hunk of junk,” He let out a grunt of exertion as the elevation dropped drastically. “And the rest of his group are gonna have to catch up as well, and pack up all their devices.

We might be able to sneak by or surprise 'em, beat ‘em to the punch.”

A smirk came to Prycil’s face.

“I can work with that.”
