I wish I could show my past self how far I would come. I wish I could show my old crew mates that I did have what it takes, despite my apparent… condition. Hell, even I didn’t think I had what it takes. But no matter now. Whatever the reputation of the vessel or the condition it is in, I can look back and know that despite my previous life, I finally got my own ship.
- Captain Oren Lhzer
Supposed to be a new, top of the line pursuit vessel, the Derelict was deemed far too expensive and unipurposed to be put into mass production for use in the Imperial Navy. Discovered by the then Imperial Moff Kaine’s reconnaissance ships rotting in a drydock near the end of the war, the Derelict was brought into the ranks of Kaine’s Scourge Squadron. With the disbandment of said squadron after Endor, the abandoned prototype found new use as a pursuit and scout vessel.
Originally equipped with experimental shielding and sensors, these were stripped and replaced with standard devices to lower maintenance costs for Kaine’s few remaining engineers. In order to cement its role as a pursuit destroyer, two large, forward-facing turbolaser batteries serve as the ship’s anti-ship weaponry. Since they are forward-facing, the Derelict relies on quickly and efficiently disabling or destroying the opponent before a drawn out and close-quartered battle can begin.
After being underused and mistreated by a series of petty Scourge officers, the Derelict was placed under command of the rising Captain Oren Lhzer. Now, Captain Lhzer and his ship prepare to serve a greater role within the fledgling Pentastar Alignment and within a new and revolutionary unit of the Alignment…
