The mood of the pilots was hard to gauge following the pre-flight briefing. If they had been worried about getting shot out of the sky before, the medical staff implanting electro capsules into their teeth certainly didn’t give them more confidence. Their orders were clear. If captured, there could be no link leading back to BryxSec. They were expected to tie up their own loose ends should it come to that. During the hyperspace jump to Ultaar, flight crews worked tirelessly to remove all BryxSec markings from the starfighters that were to be used.
The rules of engagement were strict. Bryx Aerial Command were only meant to be in the system in a reconnaissance capacity. The starfighter pilots did have permission to open fire on imperial TIEs but only if they engaged first. The anti-imperial guerrilla groups roaming the surface of Ultaar were lacking in up to date intel on the enemy’s movements and BryxSec had elected to provide arms and surveillance equipment to help aid their cause.
It all kicked off after the Imperial Fruit Company’s latest massacre of poverty-stricken farm labourers. In an effort to recoup lost profits incurred during the Galactic Civil War, the corporate entity cut the wages of the fruit pickers and increased their hours. As the employer of over 40% of the population’s work force, there was mass outrage at the decision - which led to protests. When news hit the HoloNet that 120 civilians had been murdered by Imperial forces, many fled to the jungles and took up arms. Since then, insurgents have begun ambushing Imperial patrols and sabotaging the fruit harvesting installations vital to the IFC’s business operations. The IFC has requested support from other Imperial remnants in the region…
…but post-Endor, Imps aren’t the only players in town.
