"...And the ISD is expected to leave the shipyards completed around a year from now at the latest." Admiral Tetsu said, gesturing to the displays in front of him. "Your flagship will be unstoppable."
"And I am confident our reserves can pay for it fully." The ornately robed man said from behind.
Grand Admiral Octavian Grant was about to ask more questions when the comlink on the armrest of his chair came to life.
"Colonel Orkzyd is here to see you sir."
Grant smiled. He was here three days early. But what should he have expected?
"Send him in."

Grant turned to face the door as it swooshed open to admit the former ISB officer.
"I was frankly surprised to have received your call." Grant said. "I would have thought that a man of your history and talents would have been hunted or executed by now."
"Staying on the move sure has not been easy." Orkzyd said, returning the Grand Admiral's smile. "But I am quite glad that my exile is over."
The Colonel turned, surveying the others flanking Grant.
"Admiral Tetsu. Always a pleasure."
He smirked as he eyed the other.
"And Lord Herod. Don't tell me that you are the only one running credits for our Grand Admiral here."

Lord Herod bared his teeth and Tetsu returned to his datascreens.
"Don't pretend that you know how long it took me to get to this place. Corpo or not, I am the only one who-"
"Enough Tiberas." Grant snapped, throwing a piercing gaze at the banker. "You are valuable, but I will not allow you to disrespect the colonel. You cannot even comprehend how much he has already done for us even while in exile."

Grant gestured, and Orkzyd came to stand at his side.
"Colonel Magnus Orkzyd has been a loyal agent and ambassador since even before Rax's folly. He was instrumental in Operation Night Veil, which continues to bear much fruit."
Herod gulped.
As if sensing something calling for him, he gave a short salute before hurrying off.

Orkzyd knelt as Grant stood up.
"What are your orders my lord?"
"Currently the Pentastar Alliance is understaffed in many places." Grant said, gesturing to the door. "In time I will have a place for you as head of my intelligence network. In the meantime, I am commissioning you as the head of Pentastar's newest taskforce. You will command your Immobilizer, seconded by that Captain Oren Lhzer."
Orkzyd bowed his head and rose to his feet, clicking his heels. "By your command."

As Orkzyd left, Tetsu arose from his datascreens.
"Are you sure Orkzyd can do what you are setting up?"
Grant's face hardened.
"I know he can do that. And more. There is an old proverb in my House of Mecetti that fits him perfectly..."
A moment went by before Tetsu realized he was being given a beckon to ask.
"And that phrase is sir?"
Grant smiled.
