In the early morning hours planetary defense alarms were triggered to the west of a Shivan villa sitting along the red canyons. Warlords of Shiva quickly dispatch the two ships, one transport and one pursuing starfighter, before rousing the princess.
"Dotar Sojat! What business do you have at this early hour?"
"My Princess, two ships were spotted within the reach of our defenses so we took the opportunity to take them down before they encroached any further... They were exchanging fire and it appears that the smaller vessel was in pursuit - in fact we were only able to get a shot on it because it kept firing on the transport as it was going down."
"Any survivors?"
"Yes, My Princess. We are preparing for them now..."
It was fun to find that Shiva IV was something of a mash-up between Barsoom (the world of John Carter of Mars) and early Star Wars comics. It's like He-Man exists in Star Wars and Star Wars exists on Mars.
Over the last year we have been working on a Mars Base collaborative build with TexLUG. Older kids (10yo+) have been coming to the store to help build out sections of the larger layout to display at Brick Rodeo.
The tower that was built didn't survive the trip home, but it left a good footprint for a Star Wars villa. So, while there are some rougher spots in the build, it's been fun to bring it back to life with a little more Star Wars to it. We'll display it again with the rest of the collab at Brick Rodeo in Sugarland in 2025.
