The backwater, beautiful planet of Selvaris was an obsucre gem, only visited by the galaxy's most invested tourists. It was technically a New Republic world, but due to it's obscurity some thngs - like visitors - were not supervised strictly. And that was exactly why Dodricht and his friends chose it for the vacation. A deserved rest for the service of dedicated officers to (what remained of) the Empire.
Another one of those reasons was the beautiful, piristine nature - blue oceans, dense jungles, tangled mangrove forests. And the temperature. The warm, mostly sunny weather was a nice change from all the wind, rain and snow Dodricht - well, the unit under his command - had to usually withstand. Well, it would have been. Honestly, it was a bit too warm in his opinion. So warm in fact, that by the third day here, they started wearing various elements of ventilated scout or desert trooper armor. Not to even mention that they stayed in or near water most of the time. Oceans, pools and bogs were lifesavers. Today's paddleboard trip on Mokro boards through mangroves was a perfect way to beat the heat. The coastal forest offereed a nice combination of shade from the trees and breeze from the sea. His friends overtook him and left him behind, but the dense vegetation was far too beautiful to just speed right past it. And after all, the heat was still better than all the terrorists, pirates, brigands, aliens...

A few meters away Kezzelec, a Tholothian belonging to half of the aformentioned categories, started slowly and silently emerging from water. Even though he was prowling through mangroves like this before he could even walk, the heat was much even for him. Staying nose-deep in water was the best way to get through the day. Unfortunately, he knew that this day, a whole day of stalking Imps, will be exquisitely draining either way. Nevertheless, he couldn't back away. When he got tipped by his connacts that a high-up Imp engineer will be visiting Selvaris, he knew what his commander, the Mage, will say. "No survivors". Ehh. He was the only assassin of the Macabres cell in the system, so he was all by himself for this job. Not that it scared him, but solely thinking about it made him tired already. And this heat... Can't loose focus. The less he overthinks, the faster he's done.

When he was halfway-through emerging from the water, he readied for the jump. The Imp was still staring in the jungle, probably trying to see the snake hissing somewhere in the mangrove leaves. No point thinking about that though. After this one, will be 7 of them left. How nice of them to split up...

There was a not-so-loud splash (surprisingly not followed by a scream) and right after another, louder splash. And after that there was only silence and an empty Mokro board drifting throuhg the mangroves...
