[LTC - K4 - Kwevron - PA] Even Farmers Need Watering

Vince hated the heat, technology, and the far off companies that sold him that technology. As he sat in the measly shade of his tarp, thundering on the water drum with a hammer, Vince couldn’t help but feel like a fish out of water. In the heat-induced delusions, he could almost see his younger self, the young Mon Calamari student with dreams of a career in service of the Republic, laughing at his future self’s current predicament: Losing armed conflict with a sprinkler system.

After whaling on the large drum a little longer for good measure, he got up, kicked the hammer across the gravelly pavement, and fiddled with a couple of the buttons once more on the overly-complicated control panel. User-friendly my-

Suddenly, a choking gurgle came from the overhead piping. Vince watched as the sprinkler heads began sputtering out a delicate mist of water, precisely what he had set the system to! Maybe Vince wasn’t a lost cause! Maybe he still could live out his dreams! There had been talk amongst the other farmers that some hotshot Pentastar Officer in Mal Ethon City was looking for sailors. Maybe this victory against technology was only the first inkling of Vince’s future success!

The sprinkler sputtered, then went promptly still, as if waiting for Vince to get his hopes up before shutting them down again.

Vince looked towards the sprinkler, down at his thirsty crops, and finally to the drum. The same drum filled with nice and freshly cooled water.

Ah well. If his plants weren’t going to enjoy the respite from the heat, then at least he would.
