It was a pincer maneuver.
D’ruffo’s men would attack from one side, looking for a way in, and the men of the Iron Tide would hit from another angle, as a distraction.
Banging on the walls of the bunker, shooting at anything they could see, they quickly drew the attention and ire of the Imperials.
Gunfights were short and the pirates were quick. When fired at they’d hide under the high walls of the bunker. Their height meant that there was little angle for the Imperials to shoot at them from, and it allowed for time to be stalled.
As they moved along the bunker’s wall they looked for openings. Something they could use to get inside. But their findings were few.
Continuing their sporadic assaults alongside the bunker’s perimeter, they hoped their distraction was enough for D’ruffo’s men.
