Late Submission
I am aware that the Built Across Time LTC ended more than a week ago, meaning that I am not eligible for double points and my entry may be judged under different criteria. Regardless, I wanted to stick to the spirit and limits of the challenge.

JUNGLE :Planet

TEMPERATE :Zone

MYCELIAL HIGHLANDS :Biome

20 BBY - CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT

During the droid occupation there was widescale scrape mining in some regions, done in order to lay deep substrate scanners, as well as security infrastructure for outposts and factories. To some, it seemed a miracle when the GAR arrived and swiftly routed the occupation force. To others who have grown skeptical of outworld authority, this "liberation" had a sour smell. Within less than ten standard days of Republic planetfall, local scouts began reporting renewed mining and scanning operations in the highlands, the machines now operated by clones. Scattered guerilla cells quickly resumed their struggle for breathing room under new masters, not before many were pacified or taken in during the false hope and confusion.

"This doesn't make sense," The Rodian scout said. "Something's really wrong. They are using the same equipment!"

"No sense in buying new gear if the Sepy's tech still works." Said the recon team leader, clearly playing the dark side's advocate. "We would do the same, its only practical."

"No, no, no, that's not how these, these... galactic powers, its not how they operate, they are too proud." The scout, beginning to sound desperate. "You need to contact Othwi, he'll answer for you, ask him about his smuggler friend.  We need to start getting people off world, the ones who can't fight."

"Look around you! Don't you see, the fighting is over." The team leader continued flippantly. "You think that old Count would would have some kind of deal with the Republic? Is that what you really think? To many nights in the rain and mud must have melted your brain."

"It's you who doesn't see! We are being set up, it might already be to late!" Exclaimed the Rodian scout.

"Tomorrow I'm taking the others to check in down at one of the new villages, Mamalut says they're building dry housing and a security perimeter. You gonna join us? Or will you just stay up here eating bugs and sleeping on roots for the rest of your scobbin life?" Asked the team leader, speaking as if he hadn't even heard his subordinate's warning.

"You're leading them to a blood bath or worse, I'll take my chances with the bugs." Said the scout, seeing that his team leader had surrendered to delusion.

19 BBY - TOOTH AND NAIL

As continued mining operations cut deeper into the wilderness, highland guerillas attempt to hold the line by ambushing equipment and patrols. Leftover scrape mining scars make for good trenches.

A republic QRF makes quick work of naughty locals entrenched near a sensor array perimeter.

10 BBY - NON NATIVES

With The Empire as its steward the highlands only continued in ecological decline. Much of the land taken over by austere and hardy non-native plant life. The Imperial approach to land management(as with most issues) is to burn back the irritation. When it comes back stronger? Burn it again. Finally they settled on harsh solvents to clear paths through the brush for patrols and transport.

A lightly armed rebel squad, tasked with mapping the security perimeter of a regional sensor field, encounter a patrol.

"Get down," Whispered the squad captain. "It's a foot patrol, let them pass."

While pressing as far under the dirt as he could, the Captain looked to his right and saw the new girl sitting upright not even trying to tuck in. Squeezing her blaster until her knuckles were white, she was looking down with hate on her face. Deep in thought, her eyes focused far, as though looking through to the planets core. The patrol was almost past, distracted in conversation, they didn't seem to notice her. With images of the burned out village that they had investigated the day before blazing across her mind, she decided she wouldn't wait another moment for imperial blood. She stood up slowly as though rising after a casual meal at the cantina and trained her blaster on one chattering soldier, then the other before he could return fire. Two bolts.

"Are you out of your mind!" Shouted the Captain, more irritated about their squandered efforts than the present danger. "They'll be marked absent before sunset! This will set us back days! Now we have to trudge back the way we came and wait for things to cool off."

    The new girl merely shrugged.

"You've got spirit rookie, but this will cost us." Said the captain, now in acceptance of the current situation. "You, clear those poor stoopas off the path. You, get that ones uniform, pass the comlink. I'll start scanning frequencies."

6 ABY - NEW LIFE

After the rise of the New Republic there were limited subsidies and aide packages granted to worlds torn apart by the powers that came before. It was rare for an outer rim world to secure such assistance, but with the right connections and something to offer in return, it was not unheard of. With time and the appropriate expertise, some planets began to see signs of recovery.

On Akiva it was a long time eradicating the dreadful vines that covered valley and plateau alike in the mycelial highlands. Many of the trench grids that had previously become cesspools of industrial runoff were flushed and fashioned into tributaries to the surrounding mountain streams. Some factories were refitted as eco stations while in steep terrain the Restoration Corps deployed floating research labs which rarely anchored in any one place for long.

A Xenomycologist from the core and his assistant droid conduct a regional fauna checkup and spore collection. The droid having just arrived back from Batuu with a new pin certificate, is now programmed in speculative force patterns of colony organisms. The Gand scientist is skeptical that such patterns are observable, Nonetheless he is eager to sift his data through this new template.

Amazing builds! Love the contrast between each of them, the passage of time and the changing of eras are thoroughly depicted. The shaping of the terrain uses a really good technique!

So awesome to see that you decided to still post this anyway, you captured the essence of the challenge really well and it's awesome to see how the build has changed over time! I really enjoy the technique you've employed for the transition from dirt to stone.
