After the brief pilgrimage on Pam’ba, the group of Force followers led by the Anchorite from Narkis, Smakrtos, receives a distress signal from the Federation of Free Systems, asking them to join the fight to repel and weaken the central authority of the empire on Balmorra, an old industrial world. Despite his doubts about the conflict, Smakrtos decides to assist and participate in rescuing civilian targets in the Sobrik settlement, where they reached the headquarters of Balmorra’s main reclaimed technology trader. However, their hopes of avoiding direct combat were frustrated by an ambush from a group of stormtroopers pursuing and hunting the survivors of a nearby battle. Victorious, now they must draft a strategic plan to aid the Federation…
Neo-Republican Trooper
•Thank you for the help. I see the banner you raise is that of the Federation of Free Systems. Isn’t their ideology one of neutrality and pacifism?
Smakrtos
•There’s no need to thank us, as before promoting ideals impossible to achieve in a conflict, the Federation’s duty is to liberate systems.
Tima
•That’s right; you can’t create real change with only theses and manifestos.
Smakrtos
•And while those are a crucial part of organizing our ideology, the struggles and antagonisms imposed on us by the empire cannot be subdued through dialogue. It would be futile to seek change through dialogue, as the empire has refused it until its own defeat.
Civilian
• But isn’t it the same war that causes so much destruction on our planet?
Smakrtos
• It is, but this isn’t about fighting fire with fire. It’s about reactionary struggles seeking to create a subversive change to the conditions the empire has imposed. We are the ones escaping the empire’s tightening grip to pave the way for ourselves and future generations towards better conditions than what the empire intends to leave us. Doing so with blood and struggle.
Arys
• It’s not violence for what they’ve done to us; it’s violence for what they intend to retain doing to those who come after us.
Tima
• Exactly, Arys, this is the social action, we'll stop being seen as those who suffer the most—the majority of the galaxy’s population.
Arys
• Now we seek to consolidate the Federation’s power with alliances and weaponry we can use. Even if it’s reclaimed, we understand that during the Clone Wars, this planet belonged to the Techno-Union.
Worker Civilian
• I worked in a scrapyard in the Sundari Flatlands. From an old factory, we tear apart technology from the CIS army. There’s a section with prototype droids, never used in the war. I’m talking about battle droids, some of the largest ever seen. But the Imperials arrived and began investigating these droids’ functions.
Smakrtos
• We know our next objective—the Imperials won’t be a problem.
