After liberating this town from the Imperial deserters, we were now in charge of it and it’s people. We have to remember what the Empire once stood for, for security. The villagers were skeptical of our arrival because of how similar we look to the traitors.
However, we must protect these villagers any way, they are our responsibility and our people now. We have to represent the Ashlon Empire as a construct of order and peace. When the deserters established a presence on the planet, they did so on the far edge of the marsh, a natural breeding and ruling ground for the native beasts.
This caused the creatures to migrate down the banks reaching the nearby village, where their only source of meat comes from the marsh. When provoked or close by, the beasts become violent and territorial, threating the safety of the villagers who need the marsh to fish.
Hearing this news, troops were dispatched to capture and redistribute the beasts back to their natural grounds. Hopefully, this would gain trust and a willing allegiance from the townspeople. Six squads were sent to look for the creatures with three reporting that they had each located one.
When the reports came in, retrieval squads were sent to capture the beasts for temporary holding, where they would be re-placed on the far end of the swamp, posing no threat to any of the nearby villages. In the time it took for them to arrive, one of the beasts had submerged below the murky surface, losing sight of the creature entirely.
The safety of the citizens is a crucial part of running an orderly and peaceful government rule. If you want your citizens to prosper under a secure society, align with the Ashlon Empire.
