The fighting in Nexus City only lasted four hours, but it made up for duration with sheer brutality. Imagine enduring the atrocities of a week deployed on Mygeeto, mashed into half a day. But you don't get to 'total Alignment victory' without the determination to see the job through. My people fought well. It was Admiral Grant's strategy, our numbers, and our training...the minute-to-minute teamwork on the ground...that won it, in the end.
I was with the 4th in the Municipal district, securing governance centers. We didn't know exactly what to expect, so we had to adapt quickly. Galentro fielded paid professional soldiers, better equipped than our remnant could afford. But the professionals weren't the worst; that was the thousands of civilians who had been press-ganged into fighting service with no training, given blasters and sent out as cannon fodder. The poor bastards shot anything that moved; us, each other, innocents fleeing for their lives. And if they tried to run away, the others killed them where they stood. They didn't have a choice but to shoot at us, and we didn't have a choice but to shoot back. I saw the fear in so many eyes. You block it out, it's all you can do.
In a place that looks this civilized, this...artistic, the contrast was...disorienting. I can't...the sheer...barbarism we saw from these corpos was...the darkest thing I've seen in all my soldiering years. Day 0
- The terrorist attacks of Mot-ArenX Transport solutions. These initial attacks prove to be the catalyst that lights the fires of the Four Hour War.
- Failure of these attacks to enact any change in favor of the ambitious subsidiary, an attack on the renowned Parade of Ghosts by mercenaries sponsored by Mot leadership. This attack is largely regarded as the first major action of the Usurpation of Entralla.
- Corporations begin to blame each other for the disastrous Parade. Seraphan claims that Mot is purely a proxy used by Galentro to challenge their legitimacy in Entralla’s political scene. Galentro cites Seraphan’s lapses in security at the Parade as a sign of their rival’s incompetency.
- Increasing tensions cause each of the three corporations to arm themselves. The tragedy of the parade seems to be simply a good reason for the militant corporations to seize each other’s industrial possessions.
Day 2: The Four Hour War
- Arrival of Remnant forces: Under the loose term “The Pentastar Remnant,” Imperial forces begin launching infantry and naval forces upon Entrallan cities and industrial hubs.
- With the arrival of Remnant forces, a fierce fight ensues. Corporate forces fight both each other and the landed Imperial soldiers. Many of these Corporate forces consist of militias full of conscripted Entrallan citizens and employees. In particular, teams of Remnant troopers storm industrial blocks, looking for corporate field leaders and site managers.
Prologue // Day Two: The Battle for Nexus City
- Fleets above Entralla: As fighting begins in the city, Galentro sends ships to challenge Imperial supremacy in the air above Entralla. These corporate ships are vastly outmatched by Kaine’s flagship Reaper and supporting ships.
- Rise of the Imperial Knights: Prominent proto-Knights begin to distinguish themselves in the heat of the Four Hour War. These knights, whether fighting alongside Imperial forces, or as a separate unit, use specialized tactics and skills to push back against corporate militias and defend the populace of Entralla. The actions of each of these cells will convince Kaine to formally recognize a centralized unit under loose Alignment authority
Day 3
- Remnant forces seize important industrial positions on Entralla and begin to move into the lower levels of Nexus City. With the military strength displayed by the Reaper and its deployed forces, the major companies agree to come to the bargaining table.
- Corporate leadership meets with Grand Moff Kaine aboard the Reaper. The ensuing Pentastar Talks result in the official formation of the Pentastar Alignment!
