Inspecting the Slums
Robert Rhoades didn't think that dedicating his Imperial career would lead him to working for an Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) that now lacked actual legal authority, but this is where he stood. He was stuck working for an ISB that while officially disbanded, was still functioning in an unofficial capacity. There was no leaving the ISB, but there was no legitimate work for him. Therefore, Robert was technically unemployed–not exactly the career he had in mind after he had graduated near the top of his class on Coruscant. And while some might ruminate in their despair about the fall of the Emperor, Robert had long decided to at least make the best of a bad situation. He was still a member of the ISB after all.
Robert had arrived the week prior, and after getting his bearings, asked the local law enforcement officer from the Protectorate to show him the outskirts of Kalarba City. While the officer offered his men to provide an escort, Robert kindly redirected this offer and instead provided his personal squad of ISB agents. These agents were trained in urban warfare, and he trusted them much more than whatever the local officer could provide. These outskirts would hopefully hold a treasure trove of contacts for Robert to develop. As the local officer talked about the safety situation of this district of the city, Robert's mind wandered; he took note of the poorly-paved roads, and noticed the fear that some locals felt with the heavy Imperial presence. All important facts to keep checked away in his mind.
His CO had suggested that he wear a traditional Naval Lieutenant uniform while on planet, and he had taken this advice to heart. Inspired by the now-deceased Director Krennic's love for capes, Robert had taken a fashion to wearing a black cape with a red stripe down the side. While the ISB was officially working alongside the Protectorate of Kalarba, Robert knew that his loyalty to the ISB should come before his loyalty to the Protectorate. If it came to it, he'd have to choose a side. To choose a side, Robert would need to learn more about the Protectorate.
Welcome to the game, great first entry! It is interesting to learn about the ISB adapting to the "new normal". Fun fact - a number of players have used that cape before for sigfigs, and every time it means something different it seems.
very cool barricade
