Koensayr developed the DY-76 biplane during the Clone Wars as a short-range, heavily armed companion to the BLT Y-Wing. Unlike its renowned counterpart, the DY-76 never saw high-volume production for the Republic, largely due to Koensayr’s characteristic design flaws. In an effort to enhance its agility in dogfights, engineers omitted both the hyperdrive and Astromech support systems. While inferior in maneuverability compared to X-Wings, the DY-76 matches them in firepower and surpasses them in resilience. Aboard the star galleon Tarantula, these Pirate Typhoons remain a formidable asset. However, they are hindered by high maintenance demands and the chronic scarcity of spare parts.
