[T10 - Formos - BSB] The Formos Quagmire

The Mining Guild's control of Formos had finally slipped. It was of course, inevitable after their Imperial backers deserted the spice processing hub nearest to Kessel. The power struggle that was bound to erupt between the planet's smugglers and pirate gangs had thus far failed to materialise. Formos' criminal groups were generally fragmented and limited in size which resulted in a surprisingly orderly transfer of power. As it stood:

• The South Processing Plant was controlled by the Nik'Loi Gang.
• The North and East Processing Plants were controlled by the Kyuzo Collective with added protection from the Moralan Raiders.
• The Spaceport was neutral territory, enforced by Pyke contractors.

The Bureau couldn't let this uneasy peace solidify long enough for the Pyke's to continue their business unimpeded. That would simply be a wasted opportunity. A plan was formulated, amongst the top brass in the Special Operations branch: A campaign of bombings, killings, arson attacks and kidnappings was to be unleashed on Formos. Responsibility for these acts were to be meticulously pinned on rival groups, ramping up the tension further. If the Pykes wished to continue moving their spice through the Triellus Trade Route, they would be forced to either become embroiled in the Formos Quagmire further, or find another place to do business.
