the Phantom, ARC-117

A precursor to the ARC-170, the ARC-117 was a reconnaissance vehicle purposed for stealth and espionage. A medium starfighter built for specialized purposes. Similarly to its successor, the 117 featured multiple pilots and an astromech droid. In addition to its black color scheme, it also featured jamming devices and a cloaking shield, as well as two sets of laser cannons. A set of ion engines tipped the wings and gave the ship the mobility needed to maneuver stealthily. The forward facing cockpit was the main pilot, maneuvering and operating the forward turrets, while the other pilot manned the back turrets and the implements necessary to complete stealth missions.

The Phantom, a menace in the skies

This particular 117, the Phantom, was property of the Circuit Circus and manned by a pair of twin droids turned pirate. In the hands of the Circus, this ship was often used to scout ahead, gaining crucial intel for the rest of the crew. But its armaments allowed it to participate in battle easily, even excelling. It was a versatile starship that filled many niches within the Circus’ fleet.
