Following an increase in attacks on Byblos, Captain Rath is dispatched by The Imperial Consortium to make sure point defense systems are functioning properly. Rath had joined the Imperial Navy as an officer, but he since he had helped test this particular cannon design he was the one chosen for the job. Naturally, Rath was a bit upset about this, although it wasn't like he had a ship to command anyway.
