[Episode V - IR][M10 - Sarapin - PA] Escape Plan

"Just one more tank after this one sir." The trooper noted.

"Good, good." Magnus Orkzyd said more to himself than anything as he looked around. Other than his shuttle and squad, the landing pad was empty. Orkzyd knew this was due to the fighting going on between the Remnant forces and New Republic. His bioweapon droid was safely stowed away on board the shuttle with a battle report. All they had to do now was make a clean getaway.

Yet, Orkzyd had a bad feeling about all this. He was confident that he and his men would escape with the Rhydonium, but something was nagging at him. He could sense something was not right. He could sense something approaching.

A blaster shot rang out, toppling the trooper standing next to him.

Orkzyd whipped around, spying a pair of what looked like insurgents standing just aft of the shuttle, blasters drawn.

"Your times up Orkzyd!" The male rebel shouted. "Justice has finally come for you."

Orkzyd raised his own blaster.

"Who are you?"

The female insurgent cocked an eyebrow and smiled.

"Colonel Magnus Orkzyd, we are your reckoning. This is courtesy of the Kwevron Resistance, and in remembrance of the people of Haman Minor."

It was Orkzyd's turn to cock an eyebrow and smile.

"Ah. And here I was worried that the Rebels and their New Republic had forgotten about me.

The female rebel shot her blaster, destroying the one in Orkzyd's own hand.

"We are not with the New Republic." She said. "At least, not yet. Your death may be what we need to free our world from Imperial clutches."

Orkzyd sighed, more to himself than anything.

"You are not the first scum to try and kill me, and I am sure you will not be the last. I would urge you to reconsider your petty little revenge mission."

The male advanced suddenly, shoving Orkzyd to the ground and readying his blaster pistol. The colonel's breath mask fell away from his face with a clang.

"This is not just revenge Orkzyd. This is justice. Your weapons and troopers won't save you now."

Orkzyd's rage seethed. The audacity of these insignificant rebels to threaten him as if they actually were dangerous to him. They would feel his wrath.

Orkzyd lunged to his feet and launched a cascade of lightning from his gloved fingertips.

"Do you think you are a danger to me?!" He bellowed as the rebels fell to the ground in agony. "I wield powers far beyond mere soldiers or turbolasers! I survived the defeat at Lothal. I lived through the siege at Endor. I endured the slaughter at Jakku and the chaos afterwards. I have slain countless heaps of you rebels, and contended with the best they had to offer. Just as Haman Minor was turned to ashes, I see that I will have to make you as such too!"

The sound of rushing footsteps caught Orkzyd's ears, and his lightning relented. He would have loved to have quickly and ruthlessly killed these disgusting rebels, but he did not have the strength needed for it at the moment, he knew. A lack of formal training and the effort of constantly hiding his own presence had taken its toll, despite his personal ventures into ancient texts. He rushed onto his shuttle and beckoned it to depart. He would have to deal with these pests later when they returned to Kwevron as he now was. He would be waiting. Eagerly.

Yacov rose from the cold metal of the landing pad as the shuttle touched off and sped away. He looked around in a daze, hearing Porly and Jorj approach.

"The pad is clear." Porly said, his voice exhausted. "The Imps are too busy fighting either each other or the New Republic to really do anything about us. Same goes for the New Republic unfortunately. That's how Orkzyd snuck in here."

Jorj's voice was grim.

"What happened?"

Mira's eyes fluttered open as she leaned against a crate.

"Orkzyd's got the Force."

"How didn't we know this?" Porly asked.

Yacov groaned, but put on a confident smile.

"He's former ISB. There's a lot of things we don't know about him. Whatever the case, just because we failed today doesn't mean we will fail tomorrow."

"Darth Vader was powerful in the Force, and he fell with the Emperor at Endor." Mira said, taking Yacov's hand to get up. "Orkzyd is probably nowhere near as powerful as him. After all, he would have absolutely killed us if he had the strength."

"Right." Yacov said. "He got away only because he had that ace up his sleeve. Next time, there will be no special escape plan that can save him from justice."
