The Confederacy of Free Systems outpost on Codia had grown significantly over the past few months. Once the only structures were the original outpost and a few scattered farms across the Keimazhis basin, named by the durese settler Einal Peddu for its colorful vegetation. Now, the outpost had become a flourishing settlement along the shores of the lake at the bottom of the basin.
As the settlement grew, so did their need for water, for drinking, agriculture, cooking, fishing, and power. The major source for water in the valley was the lake at the bottom of the basin. Bri-sen and his neighbour Einal Peddu both had recently installed moisture vaporators because their farms were far from the lake, but not as far as some of the original colonists who lived in a wadi on the other end of the valley.

One of the most recent settlers, a kel dor named Neran Suko, had set up shop as a fishmonger, providing the villagers with another valuable food source. A larger farm had also been set up on the outskirts of the village, using the What water they couldn't collect from the atmosphere or the lake, they sparingly tapped into the large aquifir underneath the basin. Sparingly to preserve its pristine condition and ensure that they had water for a long time to support not only themselves, but their environment as well.

With the large influx of settlers, predominantly refugees looking for a new life who had lived in Tabanna for a short time, more homes had to be constructed. The newer homes were built with stones quarried south of the village from the massive silt and sandstone cliffs surrounding the basin. Many of the homes were being covered in limewash, collected from a different quarry on Codia that had limestone, which wasn't in the Keimazhis basin. Initially, the only structure was the confederacy outpost, built mostly of durasteel and parts salvaged from the crashed ship after the initial surveyors has a few mishaps. The basin was chosen for its access to water, the large freshwater aquifer, and also for its scenic beauty. The cliffs would also provide shade not found in the open desert when the Codian dwarf sun was at the right angle. Additionally, Codia itself was previously uninhabited, which made it a good location. Tabanna had plenty of resources to spare, but limited room, and the confederacy had a moral rule to not overrun a native populace or unnecessarily burden them without permission or amiable agreements. Codia had two moons, the barren Phoenix Moon, and the mossy Codian moon, which was home to large heards of reeks.

Additional photos:

Bri-sen: The much lesser known cousin of famed Talz chief Thi-sen. Bri-sen has severe issues with traveling and always ends up at a different destination than he intended. Native to Orto Plutonia, he previously had a lovely goldfruit farm on Reytha prior to imperial entanglements.
Einal Peddu: native of Duro that got tired of living in a floating city and yearned to live on the ground once more. Unfortunately, the surface of Duro is a toxic wasteland. Thankfully, Codia isn't. Originally, Bri-sen's closest neighbor before the influx of settlers from Batuu.
Iicari: Bri-sen’s evocii neighbour on Reytha. She recently moved to Codia and helps Bri-sen with his growing farm.
Neran Suko: kel dor fishmonger, lives in a lovely house across the lake from the village, with a pier that could be used for future fishing vessels.
Jor Sekam: one of the original surveyors that the CFS sent to scout out Codia. He helps run the settlement and with future planning for houses and infrastructure. Knows the Keimazhis basin and the wadi like the back of his hand.
Daha Kaseim: Jor's duro best friend and a geologist, who occasionally works with the Preservation and Research Foundation. She often climbs the cliffs to go stargazing.
Faid Mes: Jal Mes' long-lost cousin who he kinda forgot about. He was the pilot who accidently crashed the ship. Since then, he's managed to prove that he can be a good pilot. Like his cousin, he's obsessed with Leivaks and hopes to brew a new variety using local Codian plants.
Ish Sorn Zuch: a farmer by trade, but now the mayor of the village. He came with the original survey crew.
Greev Kunda: neimodian farmer. Loves fish.
Ken Piazorch: gran farmer. Hates fish.
Beelo Teke: the local mystic who has taken up residence in Greev's house due to their mutual love of fish.
Ledi Aleetrez: the village mechanic.
