Once a well-off center of weapons manufacturing, Coruschal fell into civil disorder following the Empire's collapse. As the planetary government fractured rival gangs and criminal organizations seized control of districts across the industrial capital. The few factories that remained operational, including the sprawling Coruschal WeaponWorks complex, now produced munitions and military equipment for whichever faction could afford to pay.
Determined to restore stability only a short jump from Coruscant, the New Republic launched Operation Industrial, an initiative focused on securing Coruschal, rebuilding its infrastructure, and returning its factories to lawful production. Ghost Squadron was among the first units deployed, tasked with supporting local security forces while investigating the criminal networks fueling the conflict.
Landing in the heart of the city the veterans were greeted by members of the recently established Coruschal Security Force before beginning their first patrol through one of the capital's industrial districts. Years of neglect were impossible to ignore. Streets sat nearly empty, abandoned buildings had begun to succumb to rust and creeping vegetation, and damaged utilities remained unrepaired. The city was far from peaceful.
"Welcome to Coruschal," the security officer said, extending a hand to Axton. "We've managed to push most of the fighting out of the city center, but the gangs still control large sections of the industrial districts. Every neighborhood has someone claiming territory, and they're all after the factories."
"How bad is it?" Axton asked.
"Bad enough that we don't have the manpower to deal with it ourselves," the officer replied. "We can hold what we've got, but every time we clear one district another one flares up. Our priority is protecting civilians and keeping what's left of the infrastructure intact until reinforcements can arrive."
Axton looked down the worn street. Rust stained the walls of abandoned buildings, vines climbed forgotten structures, and shuttered storefronts stood as reminders of a city that had once helped power the Core with its industry. The mission was clear: restore order, help the people of Coruschal reclaim their home, and lay the foundation for the planet's recovery.
