Welcome back to the Boonta Gauntlet!
A spectacle of brutality, honor, and profit, the Boonta Gauntlet is one of the Outer Rim’s most infamous gladiator tournaments, hosted by the ruling Hutt Cartels.

This year’s edition features three main events:

The legendary Ring of Champions, where warriors from across the galaxy fight for cartel favor and eternal infamy – Roar for your champion when fighters clash in this spectacular, unforgiving contest of resilience, spirit and power!

The Titan Thunder, where savage creatures and dreading droids are unleashed to settle once and for all who’s superior – monster or machine? – Feel the very foundations of the arena tremble as primordial fury and coded terror collide!

and The Vanguard Vortex, where squads of four fighters face off in a high‑velocity, tactical Capture‑the‑Flag showdown across a shifting battlefield. Hold your breath as this legendary Mandalorian training exercise turns into a contest of sharpness, strategy and efficiency!

Introduction  

A legend returns! The Boonta Gauntlet is once again up for grabs as we’re entering the second edition of our original Star Wars Factions Gladiator Tournament! Builders create entries representing their chosen combatants, who will face off in a bracket-style tournament. While each entry will be judged as a standard Factions build, community voting will determine who advances through each round. Combatants will go head-to-head across faction lines, with progress through the tournament earning greater rewards. Who will falter and who will stand – you decide!

Part 1

Part one of the tournament is the Entry Submission Window where builders can build and submit their entries. Entries are then arranged at random into a tournament bracket to kick off part two.

Part 2

Part two of the tournament are the Match Rounds. Each round of matches will be announced on discord, and runs for a day, where all members can vote on their favorite combatant.

 

 

Rules

• The entry window for the tournament will run from June 19th to July 19th.
• The tournament will run from July 20th to July 26th
• Submit maximum one entry per category.
• Include the challenge and category in your entry title [Tournament – The Boonta Gauntlet – Ring of Champions]-
• All combatant entries must be original characters. Using established Star Wars characters is not allowed (No 0-0-0 or Black Krrsantan).
• The entries should be build after the challenge start (table scraps are allowed) – honor policy applies!
• The loser of a fight may beg for mercy – the winner decides if they let the opponent live.
• Provide one image of your combatant facing the camera, without background, or on a uniform background (white or black works best). You may have more photos and images in your entry. Immersive photos are also encouraged.

Tournament Categories

Ring of Champions: Sentients of all species face off in one-on-one pit fights to the death. Winner takes all!

• All entries in this category must be humanoids based on a single minifigure and as many weapons as the figure can carry!

Titan Thunder: Beasts (rancors, gundarks, wampas etc.) and mega droids (scorpeneks, giant guard droids) face off in one-on-one fights to death and destruction.

• All entries should be single brick-built monsters or droids/mechs fitting within a 25 stud cube.

Vanguard Vortex: Teams of humanoid or droid soldiers, warriors, and fighters (A shared visual identity — colors, armor, insignia — is appreciated).

• All entries must feature four fighters, based on minifigures (humanoids or droids), each representing one of the required trooper classes, and all the weapons they can carry.
  • Captain (The leader of the team..)
  • Marksman (A great shot.)
  • Heavy (Has a really BIG gun!)
  • Specialist (The Joker – explosives, tactics, hacking, tech…)

Prizes

• Each entry earns XP and credits as a regular build entry
• Each fight won earns the builder 10XP and 10.000 credits, 10RP, and 10IP (IP and RP can be freely placed in a grid where the builder’s faction already has at least an Outpost).
• The winner of each category finale wins 40IP and 40RP (IP and RP can be freely placed in a grid where the builder’s faction already has at least an Outpost).
• The winner of each category earns a title and a badge.
