The leaders of the Flame of Zhar syndicate are occupied with the aftermath of Toothpicks betrayal on Burnin Konn. Meanwhile, hundreds of parsec away, in the vast shrublands of the remote world Zonju V, two scouts of the Imperial Remnant pick up a strange signal......
Welcome to the 20th chapter of Flame and Ashes. A quick change of perspective here and I enjoyed it. Scout troopers are probably my favorite Imperial Troopers, as far as liking Imperials goes. The whole scene is a little reminescence of that Mandalorian episode where Scouts on speeder bikes kidnapped Grogu and IG-11 serves them justice. Well, my scouts here encounter droids in the badlands too, but the outcome is somewhat different...
It was fun working out a - what I hope - decent Lego represantation of on the iconic 74-Z speeder bikes. Visiting Zonju was fun too, remembering it well from the legendary Jedi Academy video game, where the main character would pace through the shrublands on a speeder bike in a side mission. For the droid stranger I wanted something grounded in this barren world, yet unique and finally I thought a living mount aka the Zonian Bison would be a better contrast than another speeder.
