Orbiting the Long Shadow, a black hole at the edge of the galaxy in the distant Outer Rim, is one of the Empire’s most well-kept secrets: The Delta-9 Research Station. Built as a top-secret research facility in the remote reaches of space, Delta-9 was hidden from even the most prying eyes during the height of the Empire’s rule, kept secret from all but the topmost members of the ISB.

Now the Ashlon Empire has acquired the station and its commanding officer, Science Minister Graf Hayfield, is not picky about who he reports to, so long as he is allowed to continue running the station as he sees fit. In the darkness of the Long Shadow, Delta-9 continues to create new deadly viruses, study alien artifacts, and develop new weaponry for the glory of the Ashlon Empire.
