The metallic voice from the Korch-chen's neck vocalizer sounded intimidating "Things change captain. Local police has not been effective at keeping the piracy scourge at bay." Advocate Zchathcalla referred to the rogues holding Tyria hostage. "When an actor like the Baron has been allowed to grow his influence under the noses of local governments..."

Captain Jeralt knew where this was going, he was just a young kid, fresh in the force the last time it had happened, but the wound still felt fresh. "I'm not letting you take over this station, and turn the police into your military!"

There was an unsettling quiet moment.

"You seem to think this is a negotiation, Protectorate forces will arrive in eight rotations." He stood up, ready to leave, "tell your men that they can choose to serve the protectorate, or leave before then."
