The ship was lost, everyone knew it, but that wouldn’t stop the crew of the Domain from trying to take some of the Protectorate forces down with them. The torpedo sphere had been rigged to explode; a final defiant act Π-R8, the Baron’s second-in-command. He had calculated an initial 78% chance of success, which had plummeted to 12% with the arrival of Protectorate boarding teams, and 3% after the Baron was captured. As Kalarba’s navy crept closer, Π-R8 made one final calculation. The Domain would not be captured, this was certain, and the Protectorate could still be made to pay dearly for their victory. The torpedo sphere slowly turned to face the enemy flagship, then fired.

The torpedo sphere, one of the stranger shapes seen in the imperial navy. It was a fun challenge to build (about seven months ago), and probably worthy of a redesign in the new unified scale I'll be using for most of my ships going forward.
