Description
“We are not your Sith. We are something new, a chance to do something right. A new tribe.”
Seelah Korsin
The Crim Empire was the reformed unification of several Imperial Remnants, counting notable leaders as Warlod Zsinj, and Grand Moff Krant Cerato, lead by the Crimson Empress. The Crim Empire had also absorbed the clandestine Stygian Society, and with it a fractured group of powerful individuals. The Crim Empire laid claim to most of the Trans-Hydian Borderlands, stretching from the Ciutric Hegemony to the Greater Maldrood, and from the Corporate Sector, all the way to the borders of Mandalorian space.
With a heritage deeply rooted in dark side traditions and culture, the Crimson Empress continued the devotion and studying of the dark side, and experimentation with the occult. It was, however, directives initiated by the Crimson Command that had the immediate focus of the new state. Specifically the recognition of its sovereign claim to all the Crim Empire’s territories. The Crim Empire was too big of a threat for the New Republic to risk open war, which meant the New Republic was forced to pursue diplomatic solutions in the forthcoming political hell.
HISTORY
The Crim Dominion, and the Crimson Duchess
The Crimson Duchess was the queen-regent and ruler of the mysterious Crim Dominion. The Crim moon was hidden deep within the Stygian Caldera nebula, in the vicinity of the Ashas Ree system. Rumor has it that the citizens of Crim were descendants of colonists and refugees from Sith worlds like Korriban, Jaguada, Dromund Kass, Khar Delba, and Rhelg. Against all odds the Crim civilization blossomed secluded from Stygian Caldera and the rest of the galaxy.
During the days of the Republic, a mysterious dark-robed Sith Lord discovered the Crim moon. As one of the few populated worlds in the Stygian Caldera, Crim caught the Sith Lords’ interest. Known as the Jen’ Naneti (The Dark Wanderer or Guest), the Sith Lord befriended the Crimson Duchess, and would continue to hold the world in high regard. It was likely through the union with the Sith Lord that Crim elite forces would begin to resemble Imperial forces. The Sith Lord made sure the Crim Dominion remained secret. No records were ever made of the world in Republic or Imperial archives.
It may have been the union with the mysterious Dark Wanderer that spelled certain doom for the small dominion. Shortly after the death of the Emperor Palpatine, Crim fell victim to the devastating Operation Cinder. In just a few days the Crim moon was scorched by thunder and firestorms. Left were only ruins and an arid wasteland, and the once magnificent temples of Crim, were turned to rubble. Most of the Crim Dominion’s fleet was lost in the battles above the
Organization
The Crim Empire was organized around the unification of several Imperial Warlords, and their territories, as well as hundreds of independent loyalist, and corporate worlds. The many systems in the Crim Empire, was governed by semi-independent loyalist governments, or regional Imperial Moffs, who answered directly to the ruling council; Crimson Command.
Besides the territorial administration, the Crimson Command was primarily concerned with security and intelligence. Each member of the Crimson Council commanded a sizable fleet and military, but the general military of the Crim Empire was mostly left to local governments.
In order to pursue more sinister goals of the Crim Empire, the Crimson Empress oversaw a number mysterious agents, with ties to the dark side. Among these was the creation of the Shadow Academy, in order to train dark Jedi.
CRIMSON COMMAND
The Crimson Empress rules with almost divine authority, but with matters of the sovereign state of the Crim Empire, she relies on her advisors, the ruling council called Crimson Command. The Crimson Command consists of nine. Warlords, Grand Moffs, and the Crimson Duchess. Although the Crimson Empress has the support of her council, there are division among the warlords.
IMPERIAL REMNANT
The consolidation of Imperial Remnants armed, and naval forces constituted the backbone of the Crim Empire’s military might. It was the unlikely unification of prominent imperials such as Warlord Zsinj, Prince-Admital Delak Krennel, and Grand Moff Krant Cerato, pledging their service and loyalty to the Empress, that enabled the constitution of the Crim Empire.
As the influence of the Crim Empire spread across the Outer Rim, several smaller Imperial Remnants pledged loyalty to the Empress. The specialties of these remnants varied from fully equipped armed forces, and naval fleets, to intelligence, security, and ancillary branches, depending on their system of origin or former role in the fallen Empire.
Personnel of the Imperial Remnant could be anything from special forces operatives, agents, or intelligence officers, to classically trained armed or naval forces.
CrimSec
After the unification of the Crim Empire, several intelligence units and former ISB agents were consolidated under a new intelligence and security department known as CrimSec. The newly established CrimSec had offices across Crim space, but maintained their headquarters on the polluted capital-world of the Greater Maldrood, Centares. The connection to the Perlimian and the Triellus Trade routes made Centares a well connected hub for CrimSec activities in the Outer Rim. The methods of CrimSec resembled those of the former ISB, however, with less leniency towards officers neglecting their duties.
IMPERIAL DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY RESEARCH
Several successful IDMR projects had been promising enough to warrant direct attention from Crimson Command. Many of these projects were consolidated at the top secret Maw Installation.
After the disappearance of Dr. Obulon, most Imperial Department of Military Research operations, was overseen by Commander Natasii Dalaa. The operations of the department included the Maw Installation, the continuation of Project Harvester, Project Starscream, and some projects from the Tarkin Initiative, and the Dark Trooper Program. Other projects were even more secretive, dabbling in dark sciences, the unnatural, and occult. The department also held volumes of information on other Imperial research projects across the galaxy. With the increasing interest in the occult, the department was often referred to as the Imperial Cabinet of Madness. However, less mysterious IDMR projects connected to Imperial Munitions, and general weapons development began to get more traction under Natasii Dalaa’s leadership.
Members of the IDMR included scientist, and engineers working on highly classified projects, trying to unearth secrets of wicked artifacts, collect subjects for highly illegal experiments, or develop cutting edge weapons for the Crim Empire. Others worked in the field, traveling the galaxy, as archeologists, searching for lost relics in ancient ruins.
DARK ACOLYTES
For decades, force sensitives had been hiding in fear of the Emperor and his dark servant Darth Vader. With the power vacuum left by the fallen empire, dark acolytes, dark side devotees, dark Jedi, and Sith cultists began to rise from Wild Space and the Outer Rim Territories. Driven by hatred, revenge, and a hunger to claim the power and tribute that was rightfully theirs, many of these dark side acolytes joined the Crim Empire in support of the Empress’ vision and a promise of bringing an end to the ‘Rule of Two’.
From force sensitive drifters, drawn to the dark side, and the promise of power, to experienced force users, dark Jedi, and Sith disciples. Some of these force users pledged fealty as initiated devotees, others were merely working with the Crim Empire, to achieve common goals.
The Shadow Fortress: The Shadow Fortress was a secret space station, hidden deep within the Crim Empire. Formed by a handful of dark side force users loyal to the Empress and her vision, the Shadow Fortress served as the headquarters of the Empress’ Dark Acolytes and Inquisitorious. The Shadow fortress also held an academy supposed to train a new generation of Dark Jedi.
THE SOCIETY
After the announcement of the constitution of the Crim Empire, many Society members went into hiding. However, a large group of Society Devotees vowed their loyalty to the Empress, and proclaimed her as the true leader of the Society. Although somewhat maimed by the loss of many members, the Society still held power and influence through its vast network.
The new Devotees were initiated members, who had sworn fealty to the Society, and the Empress of the Crim Empire. An oath of endless loyalty, only broken by death. Devotees came from positions of power across the galaxy. Whether that power is wealth, influence, blood, knowledge, or skill, it exists to serve the Society. Among these were charismatic politicians and aristocrats manipulating the shining light of the senate halls, to cast shadows wherever the Society moved. Former Special Forces agents, who carried out clandestine operations for the Society. Eccentric scientists that dabbled in dark science, cloning, and forbidden experiments. Archeologists who scoured the galaxy for powerful Sith artifacts, vital for some cult ritual. All in search of power, all in service of the Society, the Empress, and the Crim Empire.

Territory
The heart of the Stygian Caldera Society stretched from Centares in the Maldrood sector, northwards past Columex to the Thanium sector. However, this region was not controlled by occupation, but rather through influence and political loyalty. In general, the Stygian Society did not conquer worlds through brute force, as much as it infected, and manipulated systems into submission. Outside the Society’s heartlands, locations were scattered across the galaxy, and included research outposts, archeological sites. occult enclaves, and other clandestine facilities.
Controlled Systems
RECENT OPERATIONS
Sleheyron (R5): Through a deal with the local Hutts, society agents has taken control of the slave trade on Sleheyron, The deal included handing over all Tibanna refineries to be administered by Society loyal imperial remnants in the region.
Yavin 4 (P6): ……
Bonadan (S3): ……
Wayland (N7): ……
Korriban (R5): The Society has Korriban locked down tight. Rumor has it that numerous archeological sites has been reopened, guided by new clues uncovered in old Sith scriptures salvaged from the Jedi Library on Ossus.
Rothana (T15): After high standing Society operatives commandeered the Rothana Imperial Remnant fleet, to aid the occupation of Lothal, the system had little choice but to submit to new leadership, as an annexed system in the Stygian Remnant.
Ilum (G7): Under a mysterious directive from the Society’s Inner Circle, operations on the remote ice world Ilum, have been reactivated, and a full garrison has been deployed to re-establish an imperial outpost.
Dathomir (O6): Starting out as the reactivation of a few archeological sites, the Society’s presence on Dathomir has entered the second phase. Restoration of Imperial installations, and establishing a permanent Stygian Remnant outpost.
Mon Cala (U6): Mon Cala used to be a strong supporter of the New Republic, but after several failed attempts to establish a New Republic foothold in the Outer Rim, the system has failed to recover after the Imperial occupation. With an economy on the brink of collapse, the Quarren minority is gaining influence, and corporate vultures are roaming unchecked.
Lothal (U7): With decreasing New Republic support, the Stygian Remnant ceased the opportunity, and swept across Lothal, in the single largest imperial mobilization since the Battle of Endor. The occupation was sanctioned by the Lothal government, and with most military forces withdrawn from the system, the New Republic has remained passive.
Kijimi (R8): With the increasing influence in the underworld, spreading from the Wheel, and Oba Diah, Society agents have successfully infiltrated and taken over the spice trade of Kijimi. Most Imperial remnant forces have withdrawn. Society agents now pull the strings of the Viscount and ruler of Kijimi.
Galidraan (R6): Galidraan was the homeworld of Lord Eniro Hassat. After the fall of the empire, the aristocrats of Galidraan were in disarray, and unable to find a new leader among themselves. Lord Hassat made it his personal responsibility to establish order on his homeworld, on the brink of civil war.
SOCIETY WORLDS
The Maw (T10): The Maw Installation was at the heart of the Stygian Caldera Society’s research operations. Experimental weapons were developed alongside gruesome experiments on living subjects. The Maw Installation also held a maximum security prison.
Kessel (T10): The SCS was involved in several mining activities, through intermediaries, on Kessel. Drug trafficking and spice mining, was some of SCS’s many funding operations.
Arkanis (R17): Although officially supporting the New Republic, SCS loyalists had infiltrated influential positions within political and corporate sectors. This meant exploiting core-wards trade, and secretly rerouting resources to Imperial worlds along the Triellus Trade Route. Arkanis was also of significant interest to the SCS, because of its role in the late emperor’s Project Harvest.
Florn (T5): The hostile jungle world served as a staging outpost for staging, moving, and mobilizing imperial remnants in the region. The dangerous surface meant that most outposts was heavily fortified, and often elevated above ground.
Oba Diah (T10): The world itself was inconsequential to the society’s agenda, but the Pykes held significant influence in the sector. The alliance between the Society and the Pykes was crucial to the continued access to the Maw, deep within the sector.
Cantonica (S4): The power of Cantonica comes from the large influx of wealthy off-worlders and tourists, but it is the local establishments, run by a ring of wealthy merchants, and Society Supporters, that control the real influence on the dessert world. This makes Cantonica the ideal rendezvous point for Society activities across the galaxy.
Ossus (R6): The rich history of Ossus has made it a high priority among notable members of the Stygian society. Rumors has it that powerful artifacts are still hidden in the depths of the old Jedi ruins. Several expeditions has already been launched, to recover whatever secrets the Jedi tried to hide.
Felucia (R6): Three decades ago, the agriculture and the jungles of Felucia were devestated during the Clone Wars. The Empire did not do much to restore the agriculture, which meant jungles had reclaimed much of what was lost. A new garrison has been established, with new equipment capable of withstanding the jungles.
Serenno (P5): The aristocracy of Serenno always had a powerful voice on the galactic political scene. However, they distrusted the New Republic’s ability to establish order and peace across the galactiv. Instead powerful individuals of House Serenno had chosen to side with the Stygian society.
Mogoshyn (P5): Mogoshyn was a seemingly unimportant system, serving as a staging area for secret operations of imperial remnants loyal to the Stygian Caldera Society. Military ordnance and resources were distributed among a large network of imperial facilities on the planet’s surface, connected by underground tunnels. These facilities included slave labor camps, processing plants, training facilities, and manufacturing plants.
The Wheel (R7): After the disappearance of the former administrator, the large space station, had been transformed into a haven for ex-imperials, and clandestine corporations. The station served as a freeport for anyone not aligned with New Republic ideals.
Trogan (R7): Under direct orders from Lord Hassat, an imperial garrison had been stationed on Trogan, in order to monitor the rumored, New Republic-sponsored, smuggler alliance operating out of the system.
Toprawa (P5): Toprawa was another ill fated world of ruined cities, characterized by poverty and crime. In order to avoid New Republic interference, the society ruled the
Abafar (N5): Sometime after the battle of Jakku, the society had acquired nearly all mining operations on Abafar. The society maintained control through an intermediary security burau, instead of involving imperial forces, to avoid unwanted attention from the New Republic.
Vinsoth (N5): The strategic importance of Vinsoth made the planet an important location for society activities in the region. The local chieftains had agreed to a local imperial remnant, against the society supporting the local slavery trade. This made Vinsoth a major slave hub, and a thorn in the eye of the New Republic.
Ciutric (N5): Although the empire fell with the battle of Jakku, the imperial remnant on Ciutric continued to rule the world. Ciutric serves as one of the societies military centres, with several imperial bases, and even a small shipyard.
Columex (R6): The trade world Columex seemed to remain largely independent. In reality, SCS agents had infiltrated almost every branch of Columex governmental offices, virtually controlling the system.
Centares (R7): After the Empire had turned the once magnificent world into a polluted mining world, Centares lost much of its former pride. With various corporations and crime syndicates practically reigning unchecked, it was not difficult for the Stygian Society to control the lost world.
