Description
“The New Order has never fallen. Only the Emperor… The Emperor may be dead, but the Empire lives on!“
Grand Moff Ardus Kaine
After the Emperor Palpatine’s death in 4 ABY, the Galactic Empire fractured into many pieces. Grand Moff Ardus Kaine saw the Emperor’s demise as an opportunity to establish his own Imperial Faction in the Outer Rim. However, rather than attempt to control the entire Outer Rim and risk conflict with multiple Remnants, the Grand Moff would concentrate on a few sectors instead. Kaine moved quickly to form a new faction with knowledge that many corporations in the targeted sectors would struggle to stay afloat without Imperial backing. With this in mind, the Moff would call a meeting with multiple corporation heads and local governors. During this meeting, Kaine presented a treaty that would align both Corporate and Imperial interests. This established an isolationist political conglomerate that would allow these companies to continue trade without interference from the New Republic. With the treaty signed by all parties, the Pentastar Alignment would be established.
History
The Pentastar Talks (4 ABY)
The Pentastar talks took place aboard Grand Moff Kaine’s personal Star Destroyer, The Reaper. This meeting consisted of important business and financial figures from the Velcar-Free Commerce Zone in addition to families of great influence. All of these parties were willing to hear Kaine’s proposal because they knew they would not be able to operate without Imperial backing. Once Kaine established a policy balancing the interests of all parties, the Pentastar Treaty was signed and the Pentastar Alignment was established.
The Pentastar Alignment is backed by Corporations such as Galentro Heavy Works, Dynamic Automata, and their Subsidiaries.
The Events of Factions Season 1 (Apx. 7 ABY)
Battle of Muunilinst
In the year 7 ABY, a New Republic affiliated security group, CorSec staged an assault on the Banking Clan world of Muunilinst which at the time was under Pentastar Alignment Jurisdiction. Grand Moff Kaine, knowing the importance of the Banks to the Alignment’s interests, mobilized the Pentastar Navy to defend the planet. Deals were also struck with the Crime Organization, The Black Suns, and the Mandalorian clan, Clan Eldar, to help assist in the defense of the planet. After a long and hard fought campaign, the combined defenses were able to hold out against CorSEC.
Battle of Iridonia
The Imperial Triumvirate, an alliance of Imperial Remnants keen on acquiring Alignment assets, saw the invasion of Muunilinst as an opportunity to strike knowing that the Alignment would be stretched thin fighting battles on 2 fronts. Grand Moff Kaine, deeming Muunilinst a more important asset, ordered the rerouting of a majority of Iridonia’s defenses to the more critical front effectively protecting Muunilinst, but losing not only Iridonia, but the support from influential families on the planet as well. The aftermath of this conflict is a strained relationship between the Alignment and the local Zabrak people.
Organization
The Pentastar Alignment, while using the Galactic Empire as a blueprint, differed from the former and is administratively split into two branches, Order and Enforcement, each with its own set of sub-branches. Once a recruit is granted access to the Alignment, he/she can choose to build for any of the organizations below!
Leadership
Grand Moff Ardus Kaine
Formerly the Grand Moff of the Oversector Outer, Kaine would establish the Pentastar Alignment in 4 ABY following the Emperor’s death seeing it has an opportunity to establish his own Empire. Ardus Kaine desired actual power, rather than titles, and preferred to be at the core of the Empire when it came to making important decisions and determining how operations would be run.
The Chamber of Order
The Chamber of Order is the Upper Legislative Body of the Pentastar Alignment responsible for enacting new policies and dealing with threats to the Alignment’s interests. The heads of influential families, Majority Shareholders of major corporations, and Local Governors/Moffs can be found in this council. Members are also responsible for requesting military assistance in addition to assigning Overseers to systems under the Pentastar Alignment’s jurisdiction. While Grand Moff Kaine has the deciding vote, the Chamber has the ability to override any executive decision with a majority vote.
Prominent Members
Grand Moff Ardus Kaine – A cold and calculating man, Ardus Kaine is the De Facto Leader of the Pentastar Alignment. Known for being a brilliant tactician, Kaine put great emphasis on success through total domination, something he hoped to accomplish with the Pentastar Alignment.
Grand Admiral Octavian Grant – One of the original Grand Admirals of the Galactic Empire, Octavian Grant is tasked with the oversight of a bulk of the Alignment’s Navy. Due to his success in the field, Grant has managed to work his way into Kaine’s inner circle.
Elta Besk – The Head of Dynamica Automata, a droid manufacturing corporation. She is also responsible for Amber-Suns Mining Corporate, a gas mining subsidiary.
Gregor Raquoran – The Commerce Master Commissioner of the Velcar Free Commerce Zone.
Wryn Otro – A Representative from Galentro Heavy Works and their subsidiaries.
The Pentastar Patrol
The Pentastar Patrol is the primary military organization in the Pentastar Alignment. The Patrol primarily consists of Ex-Imperial military, however in an attempt to bolster numbers and reduce internal tension within the Alignment’s Territory, non-humans were allowed to serve as well. Due to the Isolationist policies of the Alignment, the Pentastar Patrol is primarily responsible for protecting Alignment Worlds and Assets from Mercenary Raids. However, if the need arises, the Pentastar Patrol can be mobilized in galactic scale combat.
Additional Templates
The Alignment Navy
Primarily consisting of former Imperial personnel and assets, the Navy is responsible for the defense of all Alignment worlds. The Alignment Navy has the ability to establish blockades and respond to various threats in short notice.
The Imperial Knights (50 XP)
The Imperial Knights are an order of Force-Practitioners loyal to the decrees of the Pentastar Alignment. They are primarily Gray Jedi by nature and do not draw from the dark-side of the force or completely follow the light. Despite being a fairly young order, the Imperial Knights have established themselves as the right-hand of the Chamber of Order and are sworn to uphold and carry out the decrees of the Pentastar Alignment. Members of the Pentastar Alignment can create builds featuring Imperial Knights upon reaching the 50 XP threshold.
The InQuestors of Judgement (50 XP)
Established early on in the formation of the Pentastar Alignment, the InQuestors of Judgement consist of a small number of force-practitioners who draw on the dark side of the force in order to further the not only the agenda of the Pentastar Alignment, but their own as well. Grand Moff Kaine views them as a necessary evil that can help advance the interests of the Alignment. Members of the Pentastar Alignment can create builds featuring InQuestors upon reaching the 50 XP threshold.
Special Forces/Security Bureau
Members of this organization are tasked with espionage of enemy Factions, spread of false propaganda to prevent systems from defecting to the New Republic, and the discreet elimination of enemy assets.
Territory and Affiliated Factions
Controlled Systems
Bastion (K3): The Capital World of the Pentastar Alignment. Bastion is home to a bulk of the Alignments military assets and is the location where the Chamber of Order holds council. Grand Moff Kaine resides here.
Bescane (K3): An Imperial Fortress world, Bescane is an important asset to the Alignment with its position along the Braxant Run. This planet is home to Galentro Heavy Works.
Dubrillion (K3): A beautiful planet that is host to many high rises, Dubrillion gives The Alignment access to the Veragi Trade Route. Moff Kaster oversees all operations on the planet.
Ansion (I6): Located on the Edge of Alignment Space, Ansion is a mid-rim world that gives the Pentastar Alignment access to the Namadii Corridor, a route that runs all the way to Coruscant.
Esfandia (I6): A free-floating world, Esfandia is home to an Alignment Communications Outpost on the edge of Pentastar Space.
Namadii (I6): Negotiations with the notorious mercenary leader known as “The Warlord” have successfully concluded, allowing Pentastar Forces to access the system. Local barracks have been constructed to safeguard future interest.
Entralla (K4): Officials in Nexus City confirm that the system is formally under the authority of the Pentastar Alignment. Red Moon terrorists have sworn to take action in response.
Dantooine (L4): The war-torn system returns to its peaceful farming life, under the protection of the Pentastar Alignment. Ample food output helps supply the remnant’s expansion.
Agamar (M5): The newly constructed ISD Vanguard oversaw the transition of power from the local governments to the Pentastar Alignment. Any chance of a successful Separatist uprising has been drastically reduced.
Muunilinst (K4): Located at the end of the Entralla Hyperspace route, Muunilinst is primarily occupied by the Banking Clan. Through a Protectorate Agreement, the Alignment financial standing has been strengthened.
Jaemus (K4): After successful delegations with Wyrn Orto, the Galentro shipyards boom under the new business from Pentastar Patrol commissions. Sienar Systems and Kuat Drive Yards are rumoured to be fully operational, with hulls of Imperial vessels filling the vast construction sites.
Scipio (K5): The home of the InterGalactic Banking Clan reluctantly welcomes the oversight of the Alignment. Funds will now be easier to invest into farming technology and expansion.
Lah’mu (L4): The agricultural world flourishes under the resources of the Pentastar Alignment. Settlers claim their crop output has multiplied several times over.
Yaga Minor (K5):
Operations
Entralla (K4):
The top brass of Pentastar Patrol have ordered all local commanders on Entralla to finally deal with the Red Moon uprising.
Tensions have reached boiling point. The Guild of Interstellar Merchants is offering PA handsome rewards and lower trade tariffs if the rebellion is quelled.
How Pentastar forces deal with this issue is left to the discretion of aforementioned commanders. Be advised, the Red Moon group is well equipped and ready to fight to the death if necessary.
Nexus City is a gleaming and modern capital, but is at a gridlock due to constant terror threats.
Overhang is the industrial belly of Entralla, and receives no sunlight. It is believed the Red Moons conduct their illegal arms trade, explosive manufacturing, and other dealings.
While an Empire-in-miniature, Alignment Policies lean more towards isolationism than expansion. Agreements made with other Factions will generally try to reflect this. However, if provoked, the Alignment is not afraid to engage those who encroach on Pentastar Space.
Free Systems Pact
A non-aggression Trade Agreement with the NRSC, Followers of the Force and Chiss Ascendancy. Relationships are friendly but we are not required to come to the defense of the Factions associated with the Pact.
The Red Moons
The Red Moons are a mercenary organization dedicated to the ‘liberating’ of worlds under Imperial Control. Frustrated with the New Republic’s inaction towards the Alignment, the Red Moons have taken it upon themselves to do what the New Republic will not. These Mercenaries are the biggest threat to the Alignment’s assets locally
